밥딜런에 관한 이번 영화처럼 로커의 본질은 로커의 본질이라 생각되는 것을 회피하는데에 있다.

저항이나 정치적으로 갈 때도 있지만 계획적이거나 체계적인 정치성을 가지기 보다 지 꼴리는데로에 충실한 행보를 보여준다.

프로테스트송을 부르라는 대중들의 요구에 밥딜런은 은둔을 택했고 닐영은 소련을 비난하며 레이건을 지지한 적도 있다.

2006년된 발표된 이 앨범을 통해 닐영은 훨씬 더 직설적으로 정치적인 방향으로 예상을 벗어난 행보를 보였다.

Living with War라는 더 정치적일 수 없는 앨범 제목 뿐만 아니라 앨범의 전 수록곡이 전쟁과 부시를 비난하는데에 쓰여졌다.

닐영은 음악으로 세상을 바꿀 수 없다는 말을 하기도 했지만 바꾸지는 못하더라도 무관심해야할 이유는 없다.
