"Love Me Do:" (Paul 70%, John 30%). Paul played hooky from school in 1958 to write this song with John.

"P.S. I Love You:" (Paul 80%, John 20%). Written in Hamburg in 1962.

"I Saw Her Standing There:" (Paul 80%, John 20%). Again, written by Paul and John while playing hooky. The first two lines originally went "Well she was just seventeen/Never was a beauty queen." John suggested "You know what I mean" as a better second line, and it stuck.

"Misery:" (John 60%), Paul 40%). Originally written for British singing sensation Helen Shapiro.

"Ask Me Why:" (John 70%, Paul 30%).

"Please Please Me:" (John 100%). This song was going to be a slow, Roy Orbison rip-off song, but George Martin decided to speed it up. The Beatles agreed it sounded better. John was listening to Roy Orbison's "Only the Lonely" while writing this song.

"Do You Want to Know a Secret:" (John 100%). Written by John and given to George.

"There's a Place:" (John 100%).

"From Me to You:" (John 50%, Paul 50%). John and Paul wrote this song on a bus on February 28, 1963, while on tour with Helen Shapiro.

"Thank You Girl:" (John 50%, Paul 50%).

"She Loves You:" (John 50%, Paul 50%). Written in a Newcastle hotel room on June 26, 1963.

"I'll Get You:" (John 50%, Paul 50%).

"Eight Days a Week:" (Paul 70%, John 25%, Ringo 5%). Ringo suggested the title.

"Every Little Thing:" (Paul 90%, John 10%).

"I Don't Want to Spoil the Party:" (John 100%).

"What You're Doing:" (Paul 90%, John 10%).

"Help!:" (John 90%, Paul 10%). This song was written on April 4, 1965.

"I Need You:" (George 100%). Like so many other Beatle songs by George, this one was written for Patti Boyd, his wife.

"We Can Work It Out:" (Paul 70%, John 30%).

"Drive My Car:" (Paul 70%, John 30%). As John had done with "I Saw Her Standing There," John changed a line from "You can give me golden rings" to "You can drive my car."

"Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown):" (John 80%, Paul 20%).

"You Won't See Me:" (Paul 100%).

"Nowhere Man:" (John 100%).

"Think For Yourself:" (George 100%).

"The Word:" (John 60%, Paul 40%).

"Michelle:" (Paul 70%, John 30%).

"What Goes On:" (John 60%, Paul 20%, Ringo 20%). Originally written in 1960. Even though Ringo had nothing to do with the songs creation, he added a middle-eight with Paul later on, and he sang the song.

"Girl:" (John 100%).

"I'm Looking Through You:" (Paul 100%).

"In My Life:" (John 65%, Paul 35%). This song and "Eleanor Rigby" are the two songs John and Paul had disputed over about authorship. Basically, John wrote all of the lyrics, and he and Paul collaborated on the tune.

"Wait:" (John 50%, Paul 50%).

"If I Need Someone:" (George 100%).

"Run For Your Life:" (John 90%, Arthur Gunter 10%). John based some of the lyrics on the Elvis song "Baby, Let's Play House," composed by Gunter. That song's title is featured in the lyrics.

"Paperback Writer:" (Paul 80%, John 20%). John claims to have written some of the lyrics.

"Rain:" (John 100%).

"Eleanor Rigby:" (Paul 70%, George 15%, John 10%, Ringo 5%). Though John claims to have written 70% of the lyrics, his help in this song is very unclear. George came up with the line "Ah, look at all the lonely people," and Ringo came up with the line about Father MacKenzie "darning his socks." Paul wrote the rest.

"Yellow Submarine:" (Paul 80%, John 20%). Written by Paul and John for Ringo to sing.

"Taxman:" (George 90%, John 10%). John assisted George with the lyrics.

"I'm Only Sleeping:" (John 100%).

"Love You To:" (George 100%).

"Here, There and Everywhere:" (Paul 100%). Inspired by the Beach Boys' "God Only Knows," Paul wrote this while sitting by John's pool.

"She Said She Said:" (John 100%). Written after an acid trip while on tour in August 1965. Peter Fonda provided the first line the two began talking about their acid trips.

"Good Day Sunshine:" (Paul 100%).

"And Your Bird Can Sing:" (John 100%).

"For No One:" (Paul 100%). Written during a ski trip to Switzerland.

"Doctor Robert:" (John 75%, Paul 25%). The whole song was based upon a real-life dentist who was known to give his patients speed and LSD.

"I Want to Tell You:" (George 100%).

"Got to Get You Into My Life:" (Paul 100%).

"Tomorrow Never Knows:" (John 100%).

"Strawberry Fields Forever:" (John 100%). Written while John was in Spain shooting the movie How I Won The War, in the fall of 1966.

"Penny Lane:" (Paul 80%, John 20%).

"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band:" (Paul 80%, Mal Evans 20%). Mal Evans, the Beatles personal assistant, coined the Sgt. Pepper phrase and helped Paul write the song.

"With a Little Help From My Friends:" (Paul 75%, John 25%). Written in March of 1967 by Paul and John and given to Ringo to sing.

"Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds:" (John 80%, Paul 20%). Paul helped John out with some of the tune and the words of the last verse.

"Getting Better:" (Paul 65%, John 35%). It was actually Jimmy Nichol, Ringo's stand-in during their world tour in 1965, who would repeat the expression that became the title and basis of the song.

"Fixing a Hole:" (Paul 70%, Mal Evans 30%). As with "Sgt. Pepper," Evans was paid royalties for his help writing this song, but was given no formal publishing credit.

"She's Leaving Home:" (Paul 65%, John 35%).

"Within You Without You:" (George 100%). Written at Klaus Voorman's house. Voorman was a close friend of the Beatles and painted the Revolver cover.

"When I'm Sixty-Four:" (Paul 85%, John 15%). Originally written in 1962.

"Lovely Rita:" (Paul 100%).

"Good Morning Good Morning:" (John 100%). John got the idea for the song from a breakfast cereal commercial.

"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart's Club Band (Reprise):" (Paul 95%, Mal Evans 5%). Evans came up with the name of the song.

"A Day in the Life:" (John 60%, Paul 40%). John wrote the beginning and refrain, and Paul wrote the middle eight.

"All You Need is Love:" (John 100%). Written by John especially for the Our World TV special.

"Baby You're a Rich Man:" (John 50%, Paul 50%). John wrote the section that begins "how does it feel to be," and Paul wrote the title refrain.

"Hello Goodbye:" (Paul 100%).

"Magical Mystery Tour:" (Paul 90%, John 10%). John helped with some of the lyrics.

"The Fool on the Hill:" (Paul 100%). Written in March of 1967.

"Flying:" (John 25%, Paul 25%, George 25%, Ringo 25%).

"Blue Jay Way:" (George 100%). In the fashion of "Within You Without You," George wrote this song while waiting for a friend, on August 1, 1967.

"Your Mother Should Know:" (Paul 100%).

"I Am the Walrus:" (John 100%).

"Lady Madonna:" (Paul 100%).

"The Inner Light:" (George 100%). The lyrics were taken directly from the book "Tao Te Ching [XLVII]."

"Hey Jude:" (Paul 100%). Written as a consolation to John's son Julian, who's parents were getting a divorce.

"Revolution:" (John 100%). Written in India in early 1968.

"Back in the U.S.S.R.:" (Paul 100%).

"Dear Prudence:" (John 100%). John wrote this song about Prudence Farrow, Mia's sister.

"Glass Onion:" (John 100%).

"Ob-la-di, Ob-la-da:" (Paul 100%).

"Wild Honey Pie:" (Paul 100%). Written during a spontaneous sing-along in India. The only reason why this song was included on the album was because it was a favorite of Patti Boyd Harrison.

"The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill:" (John 100%). Written in India.

"While My Guitar Gently Weeps:" (Harrison 100%).

"Happiness is a Warm Gun:" (John 100%). The title came from the name of an article in an American gun magazine.

"Martha My Dear:" (Paul 100%). Written about Paul's sheepdog.

"I'm So Tired:" (John 100%). Written in India.

"Blackbird:" (Paul 100%).

"Piggies:" (Harrison 85%, Lennon 10%, Louise Harrison 5%). Originally written by George in 1966. John added a few lyrics and Louise, George's mother helped him complete it.

"Rocky Raccoon:" (Paul 100%). Written in India.

"Don't Pass Me By:" (Starkey 70%, Paul 10%, John 10%, George 10%). Written by Ringo in 1963, and revived later on with a lot of help by his fellow bandmates.

"Why Don't We Do It in the Road:" (Paul 100%).

"I Will:" (Paul 100%).

"Julia:" (John 75%, Yoko Ono 20%, Kahlil Gibran 5%). The line "Julia, seashell eyes," was taken from writer Kahlil Gibran's poem "Sand and Foam."

"Birthday:" (Paul 70%, John 30%). Written in the studio, although a conflicting source says it was written in India for Patti Harrison, who was celebrating her birthday.

"Yer Blues:" (John 100%).

"Mother Nature's Son:" (Paul 100%). Written in India.

"Everybody's Got Something to Hide Except Me and My Monkey:" (John 100%).

"Sexy Sadie:" (John 100%). Written about the Maharishi.

"Helter Skelter:" (Paul 100%). Changed into a heavy metal song by Paul, who wanted to make a song that competed with the Who.

"Long, Long, Long:" (George 100%).

"Honey Pie:" (Paul 100%).

"Savoy Truffle:" (George 90%, Derek Taylor 10%). Derek Taylor, one of the Beatles associates, contributed some lines.

"Cry Baby Cry:" (John 100%). The song was inspired by a TV commercial.

"Revolution 9:" (John 75%, Yoko Ono 25%). Uh...Never mind.

"Good Night:" (John 100%). Written as a lullaby for Julian by John, and given to Ringo to sing.

"Get Back:" (Paul 100%). Written in the studio. John always suspected that the song was an attack on Yoko, but Paul insists it was about immigration.

"Don't Let Me Down:" (John 100%).

"The Ballad of John and Yoko:" (John 100%). Written days after John married Yoko on March 20, 1969.

"Old Brown Shoe:" (George 100%).

"Come Together:" (John 100%). Written by John after his car accident on July 1, 1969.

"Something:" (George 100%). Written about Patti Boyd Harrison.

"Maxwell's Silver Hammer:" (Paul 100%). Probably written in India.

"Oh! Darling:" (Paul 100%).

"Octopus's Garden:" (Ringo 85%, Paul 5%, John 5%, George 5%). Ringo got the idea for the song after he went to Sardinia after "quitting" the Beatles during sessions for the "White Album."

"I Want You (She's So Heavy):" (John 100%).

"Here Comes the Sun:" (George 100%). Written in Eric Clapton's garden.

"Because:" (John 100%). The tune came from Yoko playing Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" backwards.

"You Never Give Me Your Money:" (Paul 100%).

"Sun King:" (John 100%). The song came to John in a dream.

"Mean Mr. Mustard:" (John 100%). Written in India.

"Polythene Pam:" (John 100%). Written in India.

"She Came in Through the Bathroom Window:" (Paul 100%). Written May 13, 1968, in New York.

"Golden Slumbers:" (Paul 70%, Thomas Dekker 30%). Thomas Dekker wrote the original poem "Golden Slumbers" in the 1500's. Paul took the poem and altered the lyrics and added music to make the song.

"Carry That Weight:" (Paul 100%).

"The End:" (Paul 100%).

"Her Majesty:" (Paul 100%). Written as a tribute to the queen.

"Let It Be:" (Paul 100%). The song's idea came from a dream Paul had about his mother, who had died when he was only 14.

"You Know My Name (Look Up the Number):" (John 66%, Paul 33%.) Originally written and recorded in 1967.

"Two of Us:" (Paul 100%). Though Paul says the song is about him and Linda, it is suspected that it is actually about Paul and John.

"Dig a Pony:" (John 100%).

"Across the Universe:" (John 100%).

"I Me Mine:" (George 100%). George based the music on a song he saw performed by a marching band on TV.

"Dig It:" (John 76%, Paul 6%, George 6%, Ringo 6%). An impromptu studio-written song.

"I've Got a Feeling:" (John 50%, Paul 50%). Paul wrote the "I've got a feeling" section and John wrote the "Everybody had a hard year" second part.

"One After 909:" (John 100%). One of the first songs John ever wrote, it was written in 1959 at John's mother's house.

"The Long and Winding Road:" (Paul 100%).

"For You Blue:" (George 100%). Inspired by Pattie Boyd Harrison
